1、 What is the CE logo?

In recent years, in the European Economic Area (European Union, European Free Trade Association Member States, except Switzerland) market, the use of CE mark is increasing. The products with CE mark indicate that they meet the requirements of a series of European directives, such as safety, health, environmental protection and consumer protection.

2、 What does the letter CE mean?

In the past, European Community countries have different requirements on the products imported and sold. The products manufactured according to one country's standards may not be listed in other countries. As part of the efforts to eliminate trade barriers, CE emerged. Therefore, CE stands for the European Union. In fact, CE is also the abbreviation of "European Community" in many languages of the European community. The original English phrase European community was abbreviated as EC, and then EC was changed to CE because the European Community in French is commune Europe, Italian is comunita Europe, Portuguese is Comunidade Europe, Spanish is Comunidade Europe, etc. Of course, CE can also be regarded as conformity with European (demand).

3、 What is the significance of CE mark

The meaning of CE mark is that the CE abbreviation is used as the symbol to indicate that the product with CE mark conforms to the essential requirements specified in the relevant European directives, and to confirm that the product has passed the corresponding conformity assessment procedures and / or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity, which is really becoming the pass for the product to be allowed to enter the European Community market. Industrial products with CE mark required by relevant directives shall not be put on the market without CE mark. Products with CE mark added into the market shall be ordered to withdraw from the market if they do not meet the safety requirements. Those who continue to violate relevant CE mark provisions of directives will be restricted or banned from entering the EU market or forced to withdraw from the market.

4、 Does CE mark have the meaning of proving qualified quality

The "main requirements" that constitute the core of the European directive have a specific meaning in the resolution of the European Community on new methods of technical coordination and standards (85 / C136 / 01) of May 7, 1985. That is to say, the "main requirements" that need to be taken as the purpose of formulating and implementing the directive are limited to the basic safety requirements of products not endangering human beings, animals and goods, rather than the general quality requirements The instruction only specifies the main requirements, while the general instruction requirements are the standard tasks. If the product meets the main requirements of relevant directives, CE mark can be attached to it, instead of judging whether CE mark can be used according to the general quality requirements of relevant standards. Therefore, the exact meaning is: CE mark is a safety mark rather than a quality mark.

A kite with CE mark does not mean that it can fly well, but only that it meets the safety requirements.

5、 What are the modes of using CE logo available to manufacturers?

At present, there are eight modes of using CE mark approved by EU as follows:

A: Self declaration (self declaration by the producer and key technical information of the product)

B: Type test (full product test by EU notified body)

C: Notified body Factory review of product production

D: Factory review of product production and its quality management system by the notified body

E: The notified body shall review the quality management system for the middlemen such as traders

F: The notified body reviews the imported bulk products landed in the EU

G: The notified body shall conduct a comprehensive review including type test for the products imported into the EU that have not been type tested

H: Different instructions specify which modules should constitute the evaluation program. For example, LVD and EMC can be composed of a; GAD can be composed of B-C, B-D, B-E or b-f.

6、 What are the legal procedures to use the CE flag?

The manufacturer can follow the following main steps:

1. According to the requirements of the directive on which conformity assessment mode to pass when using CE mark, the principle of conformity assessment and Council Directive 93 / 465 / EEC, the appropriate mode is selected from the eight certification modes.

2. Prepare the declaration of conformity of the manufacturer's self-assessment and / or CE certificate of the certification body after self-assessment or application for third party assessment or compulsory application for EC notification procedure certification according to the requirements of the directive, as the precondition for the use of CE mark.

3. The manufacturer shall make or attach the CE mark and the additional information specified in the relevant instructions after passing the conformity assessment of the specified mode according to the relevant instructions.

4. The relevant directive stipulates that when the CE mark is attached with the identification number of the accreditation body, it shall be attached by the accreditation body which carries out the conformity assessment, or authorized by the manufacturer or its agent in the European community. For particularly dangerous products, if it is stipulated in the directive that product sample test and / or quality system approval shall be carried out by the compulsory certification body, the CE mark shall be approved for use only after the evaluation and approval.

7、 Who is the recipient of CE mark?

The object of acceptance of CE mark is the national regulatory authority responsible for market product safety control of EU Member States, not the customer. When a product has been attached with CE mark, the authorities responsible for sales safety supervision of EU Member States shall assume that it meets the main requirements of the directive and can freely circulate in the EU market.
